Our Warehouse
One Big Work Shed...
Supply met demand when 185,000 dollars were raised and land was donated behind a residence to build this gigantic work shed. The 4800 square foot building is actually a warehouse that the Compton Initiative fills with all the supplies needed to conduct a workday.
A Place For Everything...
In order to resource the 1,000 volunteers that will come for the work day the warehouse must be filled with everything from wire brushes to work gloves. Not only must it be filled, but it needs to be catalogued and organized.
Early Morning Scramble...
The carefully labeled shelves erupt just before dawn. Volunteers scurry through the warehouse to load their pick-up trucks and vans. The contents of the warehouse then spend the day at dozens of sites across Compton.
Until Next Time...
When the last wall is painted and the all the fences are repaired volunteers drive the well used supplies back to the warehouse. The scurry has turned to a shuffle as tired bodies re-stack ladders and put paint brushes in their labeled place in preparation of the next Compton work day.
